Ice, shopping and family

Well, we are in the middle of an ice storm right now. Hopefully it will be nothing like the ice storm of '03 when we were without power for over a week!! They let all the schools out 3 hours early today and I think they expected things to be worse than they actually are. It did start to ice again tonight so I might have a challenge getting to work tomorrow! Lord, please help us to keep power and our trees. Our city looked like a war zone after the ice storm in '03.

My aunt & 12 year old cousin were here visiting this week. My cousin went to the mall with Caroline and I on Wednesday while Madelyn was at school. I was able to look at a store, try on a dress and buy it without dragging two whiny kids around! Those of you with young kids are jealous I know. :) I went into my favorite store, Ann Taylor. I found a dress that had gone on sale THAT day! It fits perfectly too. I am excited! We are going to a wedding this weekend and I wanted something new to wear. Thank you Nana and Papa for the birthday money! The sales lady tried to get me to buy a necklace and earrings to match. They were way more expensive than the dress itself so I passed.

Cute things about the girls these days:
Caroline is growing! She is taking really long naps and going to bed on time. A couple of weeks ago she had stopped napping completely. She is visibly taller and thinner.

I registered Madelyn for Kindergarten on Tuesday! Wow. That is hard to believe. She was excited, especially after we go her supply list which included stickers, play-doh, markers and crayons. : )

We went to a worship service at church last night. Caroline is so free and precious. She was shaking her body, dancing, clapping and raising those hands in praise! It was so sweet. Madelyn, much more reserved like her momma, was quietly holding my hand and taking it all in.

Madelyn loves to play computer games. I really have to monitor her time or else she would be on the computer ALL DAY. At least they are learning games and she is practicing skills.

One last quote from Madelyn this week. I just love this. We were driving to ballet on Tuesday talking. I can't even remember what we were talking about but I said something was impossible. I asked Madelyn if she knew what that meant and she said "Yes. Something that only God can do." Very wise my sweet child.
