Things have been really busy here lately so I thought I'd catch up a little on what's been going on at the Groth home. This weekend we were so blessed during our garage sale adoption fundraiser! We made over $1500 for Silas' adoption! My goal was $1000, so we were ecstatic. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it in the end. We sold tons of stuff and I am so thankful to everyone who donated items, baked yummy treats and supported us. We are so blessed.
Jason celebrated his birthday on Friday. Needless to say, we were worn out so we did not do too much celebrating that day! We put the girls to bed at 6:45 (they were exhausted!) that night and ordered take out from Outback. It was so good. Saturday night my dad made us dinner and we ate at my parents house. Sunday night we actually celebrated his birthday! We went to Puccini's for dinner and then the girls and I made him a pineapple upside down cake that we enjoyed after dinner.
Both of the girls have had some kind of virus this week. CJ was sick on Friday and Saturday and Madelyn has been fighting it off this week. She started running a fever last night and I kept her home from school today. She seems much better this afternoon. They started back in swimming lessons yesterday and really enjoy them. The also had ballet yesterday and are busy working on learning their recital dances. Their recital in on June 8, please pray that we can either be back from China by then, or leave after the recital. I would hate to miss it! It will be Caroline's first and it is so special to watch them perform.
Jason has been busy working on painting Caroline's new room. We decided to move her across the hall to the bigger bedroom because she has a double bed. Her nursery room is already yellow and decorated with farm animals so it will be perfect for Silas. We still need to paint the trim and do one more coat of rolling on the walls and then we can move her over. I'll post pictures when it is finished.
Well, I guess that's about it. Check out our Silas blog to see the latest quilt squares!
