Christmas is Coming!

Christmas at the Groth's is going to be exciting this year! With a 4 year old and almost 3 year old, well... they can hardly wait! We have been busy this week finishing up shopping, baking yummy treats and wrapping gifts. Yesterday the girls wonderful babysitter and her husband took the girls to the Children's museum for the morning. What a treat! I was able to get about 500 times more things done in those few hours than I normally do in an entire week!

The girls and I made caramel corn and trash yesterday. I think we have all met our sugar quota for the next few months! Madelyn finished up school Wednesday with a little Christmas party. They sang several songs, had a snack and did a book gift exchange. Santa also was there and each child had a turn sitting on his lap. Madelyn had been thinking for several days what she should ask Santa for. She finally decided at the last minute she really wanted a barbie pool. What??? That wasn't on the list :) While I was shopping yesterday I spotted one barbie pool. It was the only one in the entire Toys R Us store. I had already finished shopping for her, but decided if it was less than $10 I'd buy it. I went to check out and it was $9.99. I guess it was meant to be! I think she'll be really excited.

Jason and I are not exchanging gifts this year. We are doing stockings but no big gifts. Our family is taking a trip to Disney World in January! This is our gift to each other and the girls big gift. It's going to be a surprise for them and I know they will love it! We will be there over Caroline's birthday and are having breakfast with the princesses at Cinderella's castle that morning. We'll be sure to take tons of pictures!

Things with the adoption are kind of at a halt. We have received all of our forms for our homestudy. Our social worker now has to write our home study and send it to the USCIS, Dept. of Homeland Security. We will then be waiting for a form called an I-171H which is a document stating we can bring an orphan into the country. In the meantime, we have plenty to keep us busy. All of our dossier documents have to be notarized, certified, authorized... We'll keep you posted on the adoption blog www.seekingoursilas.blogspot.com

Well, I'll get some new pictures posted soon. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
